Member list
The ISPF screen that lists the members of a library, with details of when each was changed and by whom.
Also written member selection list, ISPF statistics, member stats, VV.MM
When you open a library in ISPF, you first see its member list: every member, one per line, with details next to each. You choose a member by typing a line command beside it, such as E to edit, B to browse, V to view, or D to delete.
The details come from ISPF statistics, which the editor keeps up to date when a member is saved. They include the version and modification level, shown as VV.MM, the dates the member was created and last changed, its size in lines, and the user ID of whoever changed it last. Those details answer "who changed this, and when?" in seconds.
The list can be sorted by any column: SORT CHANGED shows the most recently changed members first. L followed by a name jumps to that member. A pattern such as ACCT* shows only the matching members.
Statistics are only kept for members saved with ISPF or tools that update them. Members copied by some utilities, or load modules, may show no statistics at all, which does not mean anything is wrong.
Where can I learn this hands-on?
Right here, at ZedBank. You take a junior job at a simulated bank and learn each part of the work by doing it, with Zed beside you. There's nothing to install.
